Optimizing payment processing costs with Bank Acquirer connections

Get In was looking to reduce the payment processing cost and access funds much faster by directly connecting to bank acquirers.

And with Hyperswitch, Get In was able to connect with a leading Bank Acquirer in the United States and reduced the payment processing costs by 30% along with faster access to funds.

Note: In the United States, a Direct to Bank connection can save around 25% payment processing costs on average with a plethora of other cost saving options available as below.

Improving conversion rates through smart retries and reduction in transaction latencies

By enabling Get In to directly connect with a Bank Acquirer, the overall payment processing latency was reduced by 20%. This had a direct impact on the conversion rates and user’s payment experience. And Hyperswitch being a lightweight layer by itself, is optimized for a <25 millisecond application overhead. Learn more about how Hyperswitch reduces application latency over here.

Additionally, through Hyperswitch Smart Retries, payments which failed due to generic reasons (wherein the processor does not give an explicit reason on why the payment failed) was automatically retried through an alternate processor. Overall, Get In was able to gain a 3% uplift in the authorization rates through Hyperswitch.

Some payment processors enforce AVS (Address Verification System) checks for Applepay despite the additional layer of user authentication performed by Applepay. To add to this problem, many times, the addresses stored by the user in Apple pay wallet might be outdated resulting in poor conversion rates. Hyperswitch’s Smart Retries feature helped increase payments conversion by up to 10% for such failed payments by retrying failed Applepay payments through alternate processors (where AVS checks are not enforced) without affecting the end user experience.

Managing Traffic spikes for special sale events

Get In’s traffic is characterized with extreme load fluctuations occurring over a few minutes window, especially when new and popular events are listed on the platform.

The traffic spikes were managed seamlessly through Hyperswitch’s horizontal scaling ability and distributing the traffic to underlying payment processors, while also ensuring that the payment processing latencies were within limit.
