Hence, the ability to be able to directly connect with Bank Acquirers with minimal development effort is one of the primary objectives of Flowbird. With Hyperswitch Control Center, onboarding and managing hundreds of city authorities with associated configurations was a seamless experience. At the same time, restricting access to data and sensitive customer information was possible by managing access profiles for every use - be it Flowbird’s app team operating across cities or Flowbird’s customer support operating for specific cities.
With Hyperswitch, Flowbird was able to migrate from a redirection based to a native payment experience for all Android and iOS app users.
And this provided more opportunities to reduce the number of steps in the payment journey and eliminate web redirections. For a parking use case which is highly recurring in nature, this was a great lever to improve the customer experience.
Hyperswitch enabled Flowbird to swiftly integrate popular payment methods like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay for their global user base. This allowed users to conveniently utilize these digital wallets for quick checkouts and smooth transaction completions, delivering a seamless and efficient payment experience.By introducing quick checkout, the average number of clicks required to complete a payment was reduced significantly, from 10 to just 3.
Flowbird is now able to offer one-tap payment functionality for returning users. That’s because once a user submits their payment information, Hyperswitch stores the customers’ payment method data and makes it processor agnostic.
While each City Authority uses a different payment processor, Hyperswitch can centrally vault the card and allow seamless recurring payment experience for a customer across multiple cities.
To efficiently handle Flowbird's varying traffic volumes and spikes, Hyperswitch’s infrastructure is built to be reliable, scalable, agile, and high-performing, ensuring 99.999% uptime. It incorporates a cache-based shock absorber to manage peak traffic, scaling seamlessly up to 20,000 TPS.
Additionally, the multi-region active-active setup enhances disaster recovery by ensuring that if one region experiences a failure, operations are automatically redirected to another region without any downtime, guaranteeing uninterrupted service for users.
Some city authorities using Flowbird solutions typically demand for an on-premise deployed parking solution. And to tackle this, Flowbird required the entire payment stack to be deployed on premise within the same city in a controlled and PCI secure environment. Hyperswitch’s open-source solution with managed support was a much suited solution for Flowbird’s use case.
Hyperswitch's open-source stack is designed to be cloud vendor-agnostic, easy to self-deploy, and PCI SSS certified. All PCI compliance and data privacy requirements are addressed from first principles within the core application. Additionally, the secure PCI environment configuration is streamlined using Infrastructure-as-Code automation, enabling Flowbird to achieve PCI DSS certification quickly and effortlessly.
Flowbird team self-integrated their in-house built card present payment acceptance solution (Archipel) into Hyperswitch as a payment connector. And this enabled Flowbird to use Hyperswitch as the unified modern payment interface for all of Flowbird’s omni-channel payment needs.
